Is this what I thought I’d say today
To put down in this minute eternity
While some I’ve known and loved have slipped away
And outside the warmth keeps blowing away?
Stopping waiting on the bridge
Sitting breathing on the stone
Watching the fish try to jump the fall
Watching it fail and try again
Into this world we walk alone
Shadowing and thoughts and going
Here it comes and goes again
Here’s that windy day again
I’m standing here out on the course
Looking out and not seeing
I’d gladly hold my hand out to yours
Though I don’t know what you’d do with it
Here’s another windy day
And here it comes and goes again
Here I am out on the shore
I’m just sitting here waiting for the waves to roll
Standing here out on the plain
Listening to the wind again
I recall you each and all
Washing the weeds out in the rain
Lying in the field
This is not the song I meant to sing
Trying to find my voice again
Clarity and confusion
Always moving never standing still
Now that there is one more chance to speak again
What have I forgotten to say?
In this afterlife of sorts
Will I just move through or reamplify?
Repeating things to see if they make more sense the second time around
